DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses

Daisy Awards at Dorminy

Nurses at Dorminy Medical Center are being honored with The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. The award is part of The DAISY Foundation’s program which recognizes the superhuman efforts nurses perform every day.

Dorminy’s first recipient of The DAISY Award is Jane Ellen Bryant, LPN. Jane Ellen has been a nurse for 41 years, many of which she has spent working at Dorminy. Her coworkers respect her experience and describe Jane Ellen as their mentor, “the nurse to ask” when they have questions. One fellow nurse adds, “Jane Ellen’s work stands for itself. The way she treats her patients is `textbook’ Florence Nightingale. Her patients always receive 110%. Jane Ellen is a real nurse, a real lady, and a great friend!”

Other nominees were: Connie Johns, RN (House Supervisor), Olga Alamilla, LPN (ER), and Wendy Fleming, RN (Hospice).
