Description:The major responsibility of this position is to operate a liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS) platform to for the quantitative analysis of drugs of abuse in urine samples. Knowledge of LC/MS assay development, assay validation, quantitative drug analysis, and correlation. Testing must be completed in compliance with the policies and procedures of the laboratory and accreditation organizations. This includes maintenance of patient confidentiality. Responsibilities will include the routine analysis of client urine samples, including accessioning, sample preparation, LC/MS analysis, data evaluation, and reporting. The work requires familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS), quality control procedures, troubleshooting problems, documentation of actions taken to correct problems, and adhering to strict turnaround time standards. In addition, experience with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and minor repairs is required. The position also assists with other laboratory duties and responsibilities as needed. The position reports to the Laboratory Manager and the Laboratory Directors.
