DMC is excited to announce that we are partnering with Metz Clinical Management as our new dining service provider. Effective January 14th, Metz officially began managing our dietary services. Our staff will remain in place while Metz will provide management services and guidance to our dietary department. We are excited about the changes and looking forward to the healthier food selections. Stop by and checkout our updated dining room and menu selections.
The Dietary Services area provides a well-balanced, nutritional meal for each patient, following the orders of the physician. Menus are planned in accordance with the approved dietitian plan of the hospital. The dietary department provides meals for both the hospital and behavioral health patients. The cafeteria has seating for 50 people.
The dietary department serves a blend of home-cooked foods and ready-prepared heat & serve items that are characteristic of the south. Food is served in an attractive manner, as effectively as possible, at both safe and appetizing temperatures, following accepted practices. The department makes every attempt possible to consider patients’ likes and dislikes. Dietary provides meals to families and employees through the cafeteria. The Dorminy Medical Center Cafeteria is also open to the public and we extend an open invitation for you, our community, to join us for breakfast and lunch. You are welcome to dine in and enjoy the friendly atmosphere of our cafeteria or carry out is available for your convenience.
Your physician prescribes the type of diet necessary for your treatment program. For those on special diets, a dietician will select the foods appropriate for your nutritional needs. If you have a problem with your diet, please ask the nurse to contact the dietary supervisor.
Guest trays are available for family members. To order a guest tray to be delivered with the patient's meal, the guest must call the cafeteria to request a tray. The attendant will then arrange with the dietary staff to deliver the meal to the patient's room at the regular meal time.
The hospital cafeteria is open Sunday-Saturday for employees, patient family members and the community. The cafeteria offers meals for those on regular diets as well as the following special diets: low-fat, low-salt and diabetic. Meals may be eaten in the dining facility or packaged for carry out.
Breakfast: 7:00AM - 9:30AM
Lunch: 11:30AM - 1:30PM
Snacks: 3:00 - 4:00PM
Cold drinks and snacks are available in the vending areas 24 hours a day. Vending machines are located next to the second floor waiting area and outside the Rehab entrance.
Other Services provided by the department include nutrition counseling for patients and staff, public catering for the medical staff, board, and other special events, as well as snacks for the emergency room and patient floor.
