Job Description

The Manager of Med/Surg/ICU/Step Down Nurse Manager participates as a member of the hospital management team in planning, policy formulations and decision making.  Responsible for developing, coordinating, and promoting the patient care standards / practices in accordance with legal, ethical, professional, and organizational standards.  Assumes responsibility of establishing an environment which will enhance quality and excellence.  Evaluates the quality and cost effectiveness of staffing, staff retention and staff development.  The Med Surg and ICU/SD Services Nurse Manager represents the hospital in community activities related to healthcare needs, education and long range planning for future healthcare. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in PI activities.  Assists in formulating budget.

Job Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of Georgia.
• Current ACLS certification.

Experience

3 or more years of previous experience in all aspects of critical care nursing. (Preferred)
