Job Description

Participates as a member of the hospital’s management team in planning, policy formulations, clinical and administrative decision making with particular reference to the role, functions, and operations of the hospital’s nursing services.   Participates and maintains performance improvement activities to assure the highest standards of care delivered to patients at DORMINY Medical Center.  Coordinates the clinical portion of the hospital’s DNV survey process to achieve compliance with the standards. Assist in designing, coordinating, implementing,  evaluating educational programs and activities for hospital-wide educational programs.  Evaluates the quality and cost-effectiveness of staffing and services within the goals of the hospital.

In summary, is responsible for the patient care management, resources management, education of staff, and fiscal management. 

Job Requirements

Education: BSN or equivalent experience required, Prefer MSN

License: Licensed RN in state

Formal training in CQI concepts and adult education.

PHYSICAL / MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; to move, sit, stand, walk and bend intermittently throughout the workday, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these sources to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  • Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities  assigned.

  • Position has an expected exposure to blood borne pathogens.
Experience
Five years nursing experience with demonstrated leadership qualities, effective communication at all levels, knowledge of employee performance, attendance retention, managerial development, physician relations and interdepartmental relations.
