Critical Care Services (ICU)

Our medical professionals at Dorminy Medical Center provide 24-hour monitoring and acute care for critically ill patients in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Patients have access to specialists in a range of disciplines who utilize advanced equipment and technology to provide quality care.

Our 5-bed Intensive Care Unit is located on the 2nd floor adjacent to the Medical floor. Each room in our ICU is specially equipped to care for patients requiring maximum nursing care. There is a Nurse Manager and a R.N. assigned to the unit always. Due to the nature of an ICU hospitalization, visitation is limited, and times are posted at the entrance. A waiting room is available for loved ones.

We understand that having a family member or loved one in the ICU can be difficult- that’s why our critical care team members are dedicated to keeping you informed and answering your questions.

Visitors are allowed in the ICU between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. each day. All visitors must be over 12 years of age to visit ICU patients. A waiting room for ICU visitors is located right outside of the ICU unit on the 2nd floor.
