The ER Department provides patients with a high level of care when they need it most. Designed to handle almost every type of emergent and critical care situation, the ER Department stabilizes any medical or surgical caution in all age groups.

Our ER Department Staff

Our ER staff consists of physician coverage 24 hours a day and an excellent group of nurses and technitions trained to meet the needs of our patients. The Emergency Services team is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered, and compassionate care. They are trained and ready to handle major illnesses and injuries like minor traumas to life-threatening injuries, as well as minor emergencies, like broken bones, cuts and concussions. And even though time is critical, Dorminy Medical Center Emergency Department takes pride in our care to make sure each patient gets the complete attention and care they deserve.

When to Go

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Chest or upper abdominal pain or pressure
  • Fainting, sudden dizziness, weakness
  • Changes in vision
  • Confusion or changes in mental status
  • Any sudden or severe pain
  • Unexplained stupor, drowsiness or disorientation
  • Uncontrolled bleeding
  • Severe or persistent vomiting or diarrhea
  • Coughing or vomiting blood
  • Difficulty speaking
  • Shortness of breath
  • Suicidal feelings
  • Unusual abdominal pain

Our hospital is available to provide care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We strive to give our patients the best of medical care in a compassionate and respectful manner.
